How to block websites without costly firewalls

Sometimes we want to block a website whether our friends or for childrens. This is a very simple but very effective trick to block websites on the local computer or network.

So let’s start

1.Go to start>>notepad

right click on notepad and run as administrator

NOTE: if you will note run notepad as administrator then you will not be able to edit the host file which is a system file

2.NOW in notepad go to file >> open >> before opening make sure you have selected all the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

3.type 127.0.0.1  yahoo.com

127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com

4. hit the save button on ctrl+s

5. jump to your browser and type in the website you have blocked and

like in my case it showed the message that it cannot connect to the server
